Hannah & David Wedding in The Carrickdale Hotel Dundalk

Updated: May 17

Wedding in The Carrickdale Hotel Dundalk

31/12/20 ... And so 2020 comes to end. Hannah & David got married on their third attempt, and look pretty awesome. They overcame the restrictions, the elements, broken locks on bathroom doors (long story) and began a new chapter in their lives today, and I'm honoured to have been there today to photograph it all.

The wedding took place in a small chapel in Eglish in County Tyrone, with a reception held at Carrickdale Hotel in Dundalk, County Louth. The covid restrictions limited them to 25 guests but they certainly knew how to party! Check out the video below for a short glimpse into their day.

Happy New Year everyone!

Overcoming Obstacles: A Joyful Winter Wedding in Northern Ireland (Treasure Box Photography)

As 2020 draws to a close, a year etched in our minds for unexpected challenges, I want to end on a high note – celebrating love and perseverance. Hannah and David's Wedding in The Carrickdale Hotel Dundalk perfectly captured this sentiment. What began as a meticulously planned summer celebration transformed into a beautiful winter wedding, a testament to their unwavering commitment and adaptability.

Third Time's the Charm: A Love Story Tested

Hannah and David's journey to the altar wasn't without its hurdles. Their original wedding date, planned for the heart of summer, fell victim to the ever-changing restrictions brought on by the global pandemic. Undeterred, they rescheduled, only to face similar challenges a second time. This could have easily dampened their spirits, but their love for each other only grew stronger. Finally, on a crisp December day, surrounded by their closest family, they exchanged vows and embarked on their new chapter as husband and wife.

A Small Ceremony, Big on Emotion

The intimate ceremony took place in the charming Eglish Parish Church, nestled amidst the rolling hills of County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The historic chapel, bathed in soft winter light, provided a serene backdrop for their heartfelt vows. Despite the limited guest list due to COVID-19 restrictions, the atmosphere brimmed with love and warmth. Every tear of joy, every stolen glance, and every shared smile spoke volumes about the deep connection between Hannah and David.

From Ceremony to Celebration: Carrickdale Hotel Sets the Stage

Following the ceremony, the celebrations continued at the elegant Carrickdale Hotel in Dundalk, County Louth. The tastefully decorated reception hall offered a warm and inviting space for the 25 guests to gather and celebrate the newlyweds. Though the guest count was smaller than originally planned, the energy in the room was anything but subdued. Laughter filled the air as heartfelt toasts were raised, and the dance floor became a hive of activity as soon as the music started.

Capturing the Magic: A Treasured Memory

As a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland, I've had the privilege of witnessing countless love stories unfold. However, Hannah and David's wedding held a special significance. It was a celebration of love conquering adversity, a testament to the human spirit's ability to find joy even amidst challenging circumstances. Every detail, from the nervous anticipation before the ceremony to the unbridled joy on the dance floor, was meticulously captured through my lens, creating a visual narrative that will forever preserve these precious memories.
