I was delighted to photograph Shauna & David’s Anglo-Irish wedding here – a day filled with sunshine, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Bridal Prep at Home
The morning began at Shauna’s parents’ home, where she and her bridal party were getting ready. The atmosphere was full of excitement as hair was styled by Heavenly Hair by Georgina and makeup perfected by KLM Makeup & Brows. Family and friends dropped in, creating a warm and lively start to the day. Photographing bridal prep at home always brings an extra layer of intimacy – from the familiar surroundings to the little personal touches that make the morning unique.
Outdoor Ceremony with a Mountain Backdrop
Shauna & David were blessed with glorious sunshine, allowing them to exchange vows in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Mourne Mountains. Their celebrant, Jim Carbin, led a heartfelt and personal service that perfectly reflected their journey together. Guests gathered on the lawn, surrounded by the castle’s historic stone walls and sweeping views – the perfect setting for a romantic Northern Ireland castle wedding.
Wedding Photography at Killeavy Castle
After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a quiet moment together before we explored the castle gardens, courtyard, and woodland trails for their portraits. Killeavy Castle offers a mix of manicured lawns, historic architecture, and rustic woodland – an absolute dream for wedding photography. The light was perfect, and the Mourne Mountains provided an epic backdrop for their couple portraits.
Reception, Music, and Evening Fun
The reception was held in the estate’s grand function room, styled beautifully with flowers from Fleur n Bloom and a showstopping cake by Cake by Nickies. Guests enjoyed live music during the ceremony and reception by @sionan_music, and the evening entertainment featured Paper Tides, Ceev, and Jack – creating a lively atmosphere well into the night.
As dusk fell, the celebrations kicked into full swing, with plenty of dancing, laughter, and even a few enthusiastic attempts at “splitting the G” of a Guinness – a nod to David’s new Irish heritage.
